New Tablet is lagging
Hi TSF, I recently bought an IBM / Lenovo X41 tablet that had been sitting in a corporate inventory for up to a few years. This ultracompact notebook/tablet was released in 2005 and since the price has really come down to the $300-$400 range. It's not a great tablet by today's standards, but with a 1.5 GHZ P4 Centrino and 1.5 GB of RAM (1 GB added) it shouldn't be as cumbersome as it becomes at some times. I noticed that there are a great deal of active programs, many more than on my desktop pc. Most do not show up individually in msconfig startup and services tab.
Could anyone please take a look at my HJT log and help me identify any programs or processes that I can disable to conserve computing capacity? Every so often (every other day) the system reaches 100% capacity and grinds to a halt, even if I'm just using IE and say Microsoft Word in the foreground. Hope someone can help, Thanks! |

Re: New Tablet is lagging
If you haven't already, run anti virus and anti spyware scans. Is the tablet new(or rather, un-used) or used?

Re: New Tablet is lagging
Thanks, it is un-used but not quite new. It came from a corporate inventory that had been shelved for two years. I maintain AVG antivirus and have used Malwarebytes, HJT, and Abexo registry scanner, and I've gone through and looked up processes online to see what they are. I've cut what I can but there are many things showing up in HJT like BHOs and other weird things that don't show up on my ruggedly used desktop pc.
