Toshiba P100 LCD Damaged?

Hi.

Yesterday i turned my Laptop on late at ight when i came home from school.

To my suprise i noticed that my LCD had a giant white stripe on the right side...now the area where the stripe is located is still working since i can see the icons behind and movements of the mouse is still there...so that area is not death. Here is a Pic to show what i mean. ( Sorry for crap quality...its a cell cam)

Can someone explain what the problem is...Thanks you!

Sincerly

Does the white/almost transparent stripe show on the LCD when you go into BIOS settings? How about if you use an external monitor?

The stipe comes up once the monitor is turned on. Bios , Windows , linux etc...it is there...

Also i testet it on my LG LCDTV and the Stripes are not shown....so the problem is the monitor itself.

Re: Toshiba P100 LCD Damaged?

If line shows up in BIOS, for sure it is hardware. Have you tried opening this up? If yes, may be the video cable needs to be reseated in its socket/connectors. Try this first and if it does not help consider replacing the LCD.
