Virus

My Averatec 3200 series laptop has a virus. Everytime I turn it on it says Averatec then it goes to a black screen with a little blinking line, then after about 5 or 6 seconds it says, "A disk read error occurred, press ctrl+alt+del to restart." What should I do?

I suggest you remove the HDD, put it in a USB connected external drive enclosure and plug it in another PC. In that PC, it will be recognized as an external drive in My Computer. Run the AV for that PC and scan the 'external drive' for viruses. You can also format the drive if you want to. However if it could not be recognized by the PC, then you may have a dying (if not dead) drive in your hands.
