Gateway MX3414 Won't Boot, even in safe mode
My laptop won't boot even in safe mode. I get a message stating
The registry cannot load the hive (file): \SystemRoot\System32\Config\Default Beginning dump of physical memory Pysical memory dump complete. What happened and how do I fix it???? |

It appears I need a start up disk which I DON'T have.... shoot. Thanks for the link. I will print the instructions off and go through and see if there is something else I didn't see.

You can use the XP install CD instead. I believe you can create the XP startup floppies if your unit has a floppy drive... get them here:
http://www.allbootdisks.com/download/xppro.html Instructions are in their HOW-TO page.

Then you need an XP installation CD.
