Buying New Lap for $1000 - $1200

Hey guys,

Advise me smth. with these preferences.

1. Budget: $1000 - $1200

2. Screen: 15" - 17". Thinking of 15" and connect good 17" monitor to laptop later, what You think? Will be using mostly in one place.

3. Brands: Are there any brands you want or don't want to buy? - NO

4. Mobility: How much will you need and how long does the battery need to last? To last at least 3 years. 3,4+ hours battery life if possible.

5. Durability: Does this laptop need to be sturdy or durable/semi-durable? - Not sure.

6. Multitasking: Will you be multitasking with this laptop and if so, how much? - YES. Will use lot soft soft. Dreamweavers, Photoshops, AE, multple windows, tabs...

7. Gaming: Will you be gaming and if so, how much and how new are the games? I'd like to FPS, but if not possible with the budget, I'll live.

8. Calculations: Will you be doing any intense calculations or multimedia encoding? Nope. Just using lots of soft, watching DVD's

9. Storage: How much storage will you need and what will you be storing? - 250+

10. Optical Media: Will you need to burn any optical media like CDs or DVDs? - YES. Need all options. DVD/CD watching, burning.

11. Operating System: Do you want Windows XP or Vista, or Linux compatibility? XP. 64 bit to use 4GB of RAM.

12. Location: What country do you live in? - Lithuania. But thinking og buying outside, somewhere in EU. UK, germany wherever is cheaper and ship here. It seems much cheaper that way.

Thanx. So I need 4GB of RAM. 64 bit proc. Pentium preferably. Not sure about Vista, but if that will help use 4GB RAM, then ok. although I with XP. I'm not pro in this but maybe XP and fulll 4BG ram possible. that would be cool.

Any suggestions appreciated.

Thank You.
