Red lines and static on lcd
I have a laptop, got it about 2 and a half years ago and I have an external monitor plugged into it to replace the laptop screen...Now, the lcd screen has always had static dots and lines, very faint but if you sit fer enough back you dont notice them but recently whenever the screen has black bits the black portions have red static, like jittery red horizontal lines...I have a few ideas, somethings wrong with my monitor, its only new :S Or, the resolution 1680x1050 my laptop cant handle so for some reason it has static lines :S Probably neither but i just wanna find out whats causing it and if i can fix it.
Thanks

Re: Red lines and static on lcd
lower the resolution on the laptop and see if the problem disappears
the problem on the lcd i would suspect is stemming from the laptop video chip and nothing to do with the lcd have you tried the lcd on another computer
