Dell Inspiron 5100 power issues
I am not able to turn on my laptop. There is no sound, anything when I attempt to turn it on. The only response that I can get is that when I disconnect the power supply and reinsert it, the led lights on the front blink one time and that is all!! Thanks for your help!

Re: Dell Inspiron 5100 power issues
With battery in and AC plugged to laptop and wall outlet.. without pressing the power ON button, do you see any LEDs light up (ex. battery LED should light up - green/amber/blinking)?
If not, remove the battery and use AC only then try to power ON. Also check the AC adapter output for correct voltages (based on AC adapter label) using a multimeter. Replace the adapter as needed. If symptoms persist, strip down the laptop to barebones (remove HDD, CD drive, wireless card, modem, etc...). Leave motherboard, LCD and power ON switch. Instructions to locate and remove the parts can be found in the service manual (see link below): http://support.dell.com/support/edoc..._documentation Post back what happens.
