Hey guys i need some help with my dell!

I got a dell inspiron 1420.It has Intel centrino Window vista.
When i turn it on the screen just goes black!Any one got any idea how i can fix it?

heres what it looks like.

and welcome to the Forum

Hard to tell what is going on . . did you install or uninstall any hardware of software just prior to this happening?

The first step is to disconnect from power and remove the battery for a few minutes . . then see it is will fire up.

Try shining a flashlight on the screen and see if you see anything

Thanks for the welcome.
Nope i didnt install or uninstall anything.
I try rebooting it with the reboot cd. What do you mean by (The first step is to disconnect from power and remove the battery for a few minutes . . then see it is will fire up.)sorry i kinda of noob when it comes down to computers.

Just pull the power and take the battery out

The screen is still the same.
I try pressing ctrl and f11 all i hear is this sound.
The screen is still black.i have the reboot cd in it too.

not good . . do you have an Reinstallation cd?

If the backlighting was not working, shining a flashlight at th screen would show the desktop ( faintly )

Put the Reinstallation cd in the cd drive and restart . . see if you see anything going on . . don't do anything yet . . just see if the monitor works

I turned it on.

Try pulling the memory and see if you get beeps

i just called the dell surpport guys and they kinda help me fixed it!

They ask me to open my keyborad. Check if anything is loose or what.
Then i turned my labtop on.
It started normallly.
Then i try agian and it didnt work.

I also did a diagnosis scan on the labtop. It said it was all good nothing is wrong.
To get display on my labtop, i need to press the fn key and then power it up.
After that i go to this window error thing. So i choose to run windows normally. then it started to load,but after few seconds. Then screen turns blue for like half a second *or less*. Then im back to the same screen. Saying safe mode and run window normally and all that etc.
This process continues.....on.
So now they gonna send me a box and send it back to dell and they going to fix it up!
