can u help me plz ?????

hi everybody

i have hp pavilion 9700

model number dv9930us


and i wanna downgrade from vista home x64 to xp

i need the driver for xp plz

and someone told me that i must download xp X64 bit

cuz i have 4GB of ram is this true ???

It won't be the easiest thing to do as hp doesn't support Windows XP on that machine (i.e. they don't make available XP drivers).

I did find this post here that talks about doing it for a slightly different comp. You would just need to pay attention to your chipset, which is ICH8, and any other differences from the one posted.

As for the XP x64, it might actually complicate things even more than they already are. I would stick with x32 if you are going to try this. XP x32 will only show somewhere around 3.0 to 3.5 GB of ram, although I believe you will still get use out of the full 4 GB.

Just a word of advice. If your system is still under warranty downgrading will void it. I have the same issue with my Acer laptop. It is in your various agreements as they have designed the systems for Vista

Also just a bit of info. Unless you are having serious problems running Vista, it may be wise to wait for Windows 7 (due for an alleged Spring release) and upgrade then
