Re: dvd drive completely dead?
Hi
Here is a manual for the P105 series. It is similar to the P100 with the exception of 6 screws holding the keyboard and the keyboard connection is similar.: http://www.irisvista.com/tech/laptop...ke-apart-1.htm Here is another link for the P100: http://www.eserviceinfo.com/download...Satellite.html Have you checked in the BIOS to see if the BIOS Detects the drive? Re: dvd drive completely dead?
hi,
BIOS is not detecting the drive. think the only thing is to get it sorted by a professional? like, would any computer repair shop do? can they just easily take the old drive out and put in a new one? cheers for all your help |

Re: dvd drive completely dead?
It could just be a loose power connection between the PSU and DVD drive. If you don't want to open the laptop, take it to any PC repair shop and have them check the connectors and/or test the drive in another computer.

Re: dvd drive completely dead?
Thanks for posting back with the solution.
![]() Did you manage to open the laptop or did you take it in to be repaired? I hope they didn't charge too much just to plug in a cable.
