Cry Dell Inspiron 1520 BSOD and DEP

Well, i got a bsod when i was browsing. then i restarted, then i get a DEP window closing the programs too completely start up. DEP closed programs published by Microsoft Corporation so that like needed right? Well it closed Windows Explorer as well. meaning i can do anything just the wallpaper showing up, but i can use mcafee, task manager, and cmd. please help me, i dont want to reformat my OS. Its a laptop, and i dont have install disk(but i have wga kit for my desktop, its xp) well anyway i have important file in my laptop please help me remove this problem

Cry Dell Inspiron 1520 BSOD and DEP

I have a Dell Inspiron 1520
its
centrino duo
230gb hdd
3gb ram
8600gt nvidia

well, i got the bsod. then when i restarted and logged in to my account i got this DEP window it was closing windows explorer. so i was like wth why is it closing windows explorer. so do i have a virus or hdd is damage? please i dont want to reformat my laptop.. i have files there and i dont have the windows disk. anyway i can use cmd and taskmanager. please help.

Can you boot into Safe Mode? How about Last known good configuration?

well its kinda weird. sometimes i can go with safemode or w/o it. how ever i cant system restore. when i choose a date i click next then next again then nothing happens. my mcafee cannot scan. weird. cmd is working. last known good config. i done it already but same still. i have a big feeling this is a stupid virus. please help. add my msn m4a1_996@hotmail.com .

It may sound too drastic but I believe a fresh install of the operating system can be very helpful here. Besides, it looks like the laptop has lots of Windows related problems.

If you are using XP try a repair of Windows if that might help. Not as destructive as reinstall of Windows. Here's the steps:

The only thing you need to highlight is the location where your Windows is located... it asks for that so it will know which Windows installation to repair. In your case you should see something similar to the image below:

well i've done it already but, still BSOD is present.(so do you think i better reformat? as in remove all files then start over)

If you can go Safe Mode try msconfig at command prompt and edit startup entries... disable all except for one and reboot. If you can boot normally, edit msconfig again, enabling the startup programs one at a time. Once you find out which one causes the error, disable that program and uninstall/reinstall it if needed.
