Dell Latitude d810 is a brick.
I think the correct term is that it will not POST.
Current Configuration is I am runing Win XP SP2. Here are the symptoms: I start up my laptop and I get the BIOS loading screen. I can also hit F2 or F12 and get into the BIOS as needed. But once the BIOS is loaded I get an underscore cursor in the upper left of the screen then nothing. The screen is simply blank. At fist this occurred intermittantly - mainly when I docked or undocked my PC, but now it occurs all the time. I have started up the DELL extended test by holding down the Fn key while powering on. With this I get the following message: Error Code 0F00:0228 IDE Device Failed: Timeut waiting for drive not busy. I am thinking that either my Mother Board or my IDE controller has dieded. Any help / suggestions? Where do I go from here? Can I get this fixed quickly? |

Re: Dell Latitude d810 is a brick.
I think you have a bad HDD. Run some diagnostics to test your HDD... like Hitachi Drive Fitness Test (see d/load link on my sig).
