Sony Vaio - Upgrade Video / Graphics ???
Hi New to the Forum,
Will probably get no joy from here but lets see... I have a Sony Vaio VGN-N38E/W with a Intel Graphics Media Accelarator 950 and Video Memory of 224 MB. This I understand pretty much sucks to play any kind of decent Game (GTA IV for example where at least a Nvidia 256 MB GC is needed). I foolishly thought one could upgrade as you can with a PC but have been told no way. However - This laptop has a universal express card slot that takes both 34 and 54 mm Express Cards. Now my question is - is there any form of external graphics / video card on the market for a laptop? Or is there any way that any of you know that I can boost my Graphics without upgrading the whole laptop? I have upgraded my RAM to 2 GB and have all the other requirements for Gaming so any help you guys can offer would be appreciated... Cheers, |

Re: Sony Vaio - Upgrade Video / Graphics ???
AFAIK there are no ExpressCard54 video cards yet. Instead of upgrading the video card or motherboard and RAM to suit your gaming needs, get a high end entertainment laptop, may be it will cost you a bit higher but you have a brand new unit with all the warranties in effect.
