[SOLVED] upgrading RAM on sony vaio

Hi newbie to site

Just a quick question, I want to upgrade my RAM on my Sony Vaio PCG K115B, I know what I need, my question is I currently have 2x256MB RAM & I am looking to upgrade to 1GB RAM, my laptop can be upgraded to max RAM of 1GB, so can I just buy a 1GB bar & just use 1 slot or do I have to buy 2x512MB bars & use both slots. Any ideas guys, most appreciated.

Cheers TriggerFinger, I had seen about the max per slot when I checked out what memory I needed, I just wanted to make sure this was right< because I can save myself £20 if I could just buy a 1GB instead of 2x512MB. Thanks for the response.

Oh OK... but sad to say mobo does not support 1GB on one slot.
