Hi All,

I have a Dell Inspiron 9300, just over 3yrs old and just out or warranty!

The screen hinges have recently become a bit loose, making the screen wobble slightly when the laptop is moved. It doesn't move much, no more than an inch, however I'm a bit concerned that this motion will loosen it even further.

I've had a look and I cannot see any direct access to the hinges. What is the procedure to get them tightened? And how much would this cost at a typical computer store (or is a specialist more suited)?

Any help you could give me would be greatly appreciated.

AFAIK you can't just tighten them... I suggest you consider replacement. However if you want to give it a try, I suggest you get the service manual from DELL website for your 9300 so you will have a guide in disassembly (removal of display, top lid, etc.).
