cd tray
the cd tray in my dell vostro 1000 laptop constantly ejects once i try to use it. i have to hold it down and still it doesn't work all the time.

IMHO one easy way to isolate is to try your CD drive in another laptop or use a USB enclosure so you can hook it up on another computer. If it behaves the same, consider replacement.
