red laptop monitor screeen

hey to all

have friend hp pavillion dv100 has no screen color when laptop is turned on, scrren shows a red color for few min then dark agian, if i connect external monitor to it then i can see the screen help.

The LCD (at least some part of it) is bad and needs to be replaced. Most probably it is either the backlight or the inverter. If you have no experience doing hardware repairs, it is best to leave it to professionals such as www.moniserv.com.

Works fine on an external monitor then check all the LCD screen cable connections are connected from the LCD to the MB, if thats not the issue then the LCD is bad.

Red tint or pink tint may mean a failing backlight or may mean a defective LCD.
