Frustrating Problem with HP DV8000

I have been trying to figure out this problem for the last 3 months. I have a HP dv8327cl with a core duo processor and 1 gig of ram. The computer also has the latest bios and drivers. It is running Windows XP MCE. The computer has a real problem booting into windows. It keeps restarting once the loading windows screen comes up. There is no BSOD and i have tried turning off automatic restart. It is is not an overheating issue. I have tried changing the ram, testing the hard drives, the wifi card, dvd drive, etc.., but to no avail. The computer does start eventually and works as long as i don't turn it off. I have also tried reinstalling windows, but the problem is still there. I have not found a solution on the internet and my warranty with HP has expired. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Frustrating Problem with HP DV8000

It may be a virus, boot into safe mode and run a scan and see what it comes up with.
