Dell Inspiron 1521 Webcam Problems

I recently had to reinstall the Vista operating system and all software (nightmare!).

The Creative integrated webcam is not detected and when I reinstall from the CD it goes through the processs then says an error occurred. The webcam is still not seen.

It was working fine before I had to reinstall the OS.

How can I get all the correct files from Dell? They have the driver and other files, but I don't know what all I need.

Of course you can try downloading each related driver from DELL. Best way I could think of is order a recovery CD/DVD media from DELL.

Btw, it sounds that you reinstalled Vista but not through the recovery partition. Did it come with Vista originally? If so, check the Users Guide/Manual for instructions on how to recover/restore to factory default.

I myself have a similar problem with my Dell Inspiron 1420. what happened was that i reinstalled my OS and all the relevant drivers that came with the package. after which when i tried accessing my integrated webcam from creative labs i got the "no webcam detected" message. i then proceeded to reinstall the webcam's driver but the installation only got to 90% completion after which i was prompted to restart my machine.
COULD SOMEONE PLEASE TELL ME WHAT I AM DOING WRONG AND HOW DO I GET THIS WEBCAM ISSUE RESOLVED.
