Screen goes black

Same here, Mine started to do it last night and I can't figure out why....

My model is Toshiba Satellite P105-S9312....

At times, the screen would come back on its own but it goes black too for no reason.

Re: Screen goes black

Try with another operating system like linux live CD. If it behaves the same then it could be hardware related.

Re: Screen goes black

How can i check for the loose connectors?

I read something about the lcd connectors are easily broken or something like that......

Re: Screen goes black

As per dai's advise.. it could be a loose connection. That means you may need to open the laptop up (get hold of a service manual so you will have some instructions to follow).

Re: Screen goes black

May be you need a new LCD or an inverter.

is this the inverter?

If so, How can i dissemble the lcd from the laptop?

How can i know if its the screen itself or could it be the inverter?

thanks.

is this the inverter? -- yes, make sure it is compatible with your model of laptop.

If so, How can i dissemble the lcd from the laptop? -- get hold of a service manual for your laptop model. AFAIK it could be quite difficult for those doing it the first time... you may do more harm than good if luck is not on your side.

How can i know if its the screen itself or could it be the inverter? -- very hard to tell given the symptoms (dim/dark screen)... that is why you need to try out parts so you will know which one. IMHO it would be costly if you have no spares lying around... better for you if have it fixed by a professional.

thanks.
