Dell Lattitude LS can not boot
Ok I am trying to format this laptop that has a checksum error when starting up. It might be the battery but I want to rule out everything else first. This laptop is unable to boot up to windows at all.
When in the PhoenixBIOS Setup Utility the program works very slowly and the System Time tends to hang. Especially when I perform any action. It will count down normally then hang for a few seconds and jump forward a couple of seconds to catch up. I am unable to change any setting in the BIOS apparently because as soon as I save setting and exit and come back into it the setting will have gone back to their defaults. I suspect this has to do with the checksum error. When in the Managed PC Boot Agent that came with the Laptop there are a variety of bootup options but whatever is selected leads to a reboot or a failure to load the OS. Thanks for any help. |

Re: Dell Lattitude LS can not boot
Two things. Check the BIOS version and see if there is an update but first, change that battery. If you can get to it and put a meter on it do that. The batteries are cheap enough but testing it is easy enough.
