Locating Co/User Name from slave HD

I work for a computer rental company. Last show we got back our laptop case with a laptop from another company. We assume they have ours. I am trying to locate the owner. The laptop is password protected at the user level and is running XP. I have the hard drive connected to a desktop and can access it as a normal drive.

Any suggestions as to how I can access the Co/User name? Any other suggestions would be appreciated. Thx.

Are we allowed to do this? It's easy enough to do but I think forum rules forbid us from teaching how to bypass passwords. Anyone?

I see your point Bony. Really didn't think of it in that context since I already have access to their data and programs. I will respect the decision of the board and withdraw my request if that is the concensus here. Thx.

I don't have a problem with helping you but I'm real new here and I'd hate to get banned so soon,

Forum Rules expressly prohibit offering this sort of information & advice. The OP should PM a Manager, Admin or Mod and perhaps they will help them.
