help dell insprion 6000!!!!

i have had a dell insprion 6000 for a few years. recently my wife got a virus on it and i had to reinstall windows xp. now i can not hook up to the internet. the laptop cannot find my wireless network card. can someone please help my establish my wireless card and setting up the network? the only thing showing in device manager under network adapters is 1394 net adapter. any and all help is gladly accepted

You can find all the drivers for your Dell here:

http://support.dell.com/support/down...=us&l=en&s=gen

Load the chipset driver first, then the rest in any order.

open My Network Places, click view connections, view wireless networks, choose yours and try to connect.

Do any other pc's connect to the same network? . . Can you connect with a wired connection? Did you enter the security keys for the wireless device? . . What brand and model is the wireless device?

yes there are 2 other pcs on the network. no i cannot connect with a wired. yes i entered the security keys. linksys wrt54g

Open Device Manager and look for anything marked as unknown or that has a yellow ! in front of it . .

nothing under network adapters has a yellow ! or ? in front. under other devices that has a yellow ? and so does ethernet controller, multimedia audio controller, and 2 video controllers. they all have yellow ?. it still say limited or no connectivity

You need to install the drivers for those devices in the Other line . . You can find them in the link in my first post. Load the Chipset driver first, then the others in any order
