Laptop mouse won't work after re-install of XP Pro OS
I re-installed Windows XP Pro on laptop over existing XP Pro. When it finished I had to load a driver to get display resolution settings to work. Decided to load all drivers that came with PC since I was getting a Hotkey error message. Ater loading each driver it requested to reboot or do later, I chose do later to save time and continued loading all drivers. One of the drivers had to do with the, I think, Synaptec mouse pointer on the laptop. When I rebooted the mouse refused to work. It just stays in the middle of the screen. I tried Safe Mode but the mouse won't work there either. I tried connecting another mouse but it failed to work also. Is there a fix to repair the mouse that's quick and simple or do I have to re-install XP Pro again over the existing XP Pro just to get the mouse to work. Since I can't use the mouse the only thing I can do would be to re-install again over existing OS. Any assistance would be much appreciated. Thank you.
