wireless switch crashes laptop
This is a bit of a puzzle. Whenever I have my wireless switch on, my computer goes to a blue screen and crashes. This only happens if the wireless switch is on and at my apartment. The bizzare part is the computer works fine away from home. I can't tell if this is just my computer or a router issues.

Re: wireless switch crashes laptop
I just started having the same problem. My laptop works fine if the wireless switch is off, as soon as I turn it on, it crashes. I have reset and completely turned off my router, but it still happens - but like you, only at my house. I tried it at the repair shop and at a friend's house and it connects to the wireless network and works fine. I have a Toshiba laptop with XP. Nothing has changed with my setup in the last couple of months, was working fine and just randomly started crashing last week last week.
Have you found any solutions? Thanks! |

Re: wireless switch crashes laptop
I have a similar problem it took me a while to figure out that the crashing was related to the wireless system. I deleted and re-installed the wireless driver, however, the problem persisted. I am in the process of installing a wireless card to rule out a faulty hardware on the Toshiba. I'll post my results. Perhaps someone has already addressed this problem, if so, please let us kno

Re: wireless switch crashes laptop
I have just had this problem too. I solved it by installing the updated driver software for my intel wireless network connection.
Available at http://downloadcenter.intel.com Hope this helps. Last edited by diggler76; 01-24-2009 at 10:17 AM. Reason: additional info |
