major HP help needed
hi
I have a HP ZE2000 laptop that wont even turn on. When charging the lightning bolt light is lit. When I power on, the lightning bolt light goes out, the light with the circle and vertical line (the on button) lights up, goes out and then the lightning bolt charging lght goes back on, nothing happens on the screen and now its just sitting in a charging state. I thought it was the dc jack so i swapped out the board but its still giving me the same problem, any help would be really appreciated thanks in advance |

Re: major HP help needed
On my HP notebook, my power cord actually burned out on the tip that plugs into the computer. This probably isn't the problem, but does the cord look a little worn out?
That's about the only thing I can think of, although I guess you said it was charging... |

Re: major HP help needed
You have power as the battery's charged, but unable to turn on. It's more likely bad motherboard. A bad motherboard still can charge battery, take it into consideration of troubleshoot.Try to swap another good working motherboard:

Re: major HP help needed
Pull out the battery, disconnect the ac power and hold the power on button for 60 secs, then plug ac cord in and see if turns on. If not I agree with probably a bad main board.
