how do you sustain the battery life of a new laptop?

Re: Battery life
I reset my laptop to "Always On" and allow it to totally discharge to under 10% of usage, then recharge by plugging into power. I do this several times when my laptop battery is new., This is recommended by my manual. It is better than using it for a small percentage of the battery power and recharging that small amount.
