HP Pavillion - Wont Boot - You Figure This Out, You're My New God

Story goes like this: CPU physically broke, cuz im a tard. Replaced it with exact make model CPU, turn laptop on, all it does is light up, and check for a cdrom over and over. Cant open cd rom, nothing on the screen.

Any ideas/ What are the signs of a wasted motherboard?.... i have a feeling I shorted it.

If it can be salvaged and you know how, Ill send you my left nut in the mail.

its a HP Pavillion ze5700

How did you break the cpu? . . they are pretty hardy, chances are that something else burned out first.

Are you sure you got everything reconnected when you put it back together?
