Re: Compaq Presario CQ60-103EL
Hi Wico,
If you still have Vista on this machine (I hope you do AND have made a backup Vista OS along with you personal data) can you run EVEREST under my signature and attach the report to the thread? This report will tell me what hardware you have on this system. Thanks, Bill |

Re: Compaq Presario CQ60-103EL
Hi Wico.
First, be sure you have backed up all your personal data you wish to keep. Make or have a copy of your Vista OS incase we need to reinstall Vista if need be. You will need a legit XP CD (with SP2 if possible) Xp SP2: Here is a link for SP2 if you need it: Service Pack 2 Intel Sata drivers: Drivers You will need to slipstream certain file to a cd to install XP on this laptop. This link gives you detailed instructions on how to do this: Slipstreaming Once the CD is made you can install windows. When windows finishes the installation you will nee to install the drivers. Please install the following drivers in this order: CHIPSET Driver Install and Reboot Graphics Driver Install and Reboot Lan Driver Install and Reboot Wireless Lan Install and Reboot At this point you should beable to connect to the internet. Do a Microsoft Update but do not install SP3 at this time. You will also need these paks: NET Framework 2.0 Install and Reboot Once the updates are done and the pak is installed you may proceed to the next step. MS UAA Driver Install and Reboot Audio Extract Files to a folder. Run the installer. If it errors upon installation use device Manager. From Device Manager, right click "Audio Device on HD". Choose Update driver. Check no to connect. Install from a list or specific location. Don't search I will choose the driver to install. In the list of common hardware types, scroll down and select Sound, Video, and Game controllers. Remove the check from "Show Compatible Hardware" and click on "Have Disk". Next...browse to the unzipped folder and choose the "WiSVHe5.inf". Ignore XP when it complains. REBOOT. Modem Run the setup file if it errors try to manually install the driver through the Device Manager (similar to the Audio driver) Install and Reboot HDMI Driver Install and Reboot XP Drivers posted on HP website for this model: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/s...roduct=3812156 Let me know what remaining errors you have in the Device Manager. If you fun into an issue please post it. Do not skip around installing these drivers. Thanks, Bill |

Re: Compaq Presario CQ60-103EL
Are you extracting the Zip file to a folder and then slipstreaming to CD?
Try to slipstream these drivers: http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/g...reg_R1002_USEN Or http://downloadcenter.intel.com/Deta...ition&lang=eng I am assuming this is a 32bit OS you are installing. Bill |
