Laptop Acting up...Help!
Hello,
Yesterday my laptop screen just went completely blank on me. I restarted the computer and it would go all the way to the Windows screen and go blank again. I repeated the restart process and every time I did it, it cycled passed the Dell screen and into the Windows screen, faster and faster. Now it simply shows no output at all. I can see it flash from a darker blank to a lighter blank but that is it. I don't have a clue of where to begin with this one. Thanks! |

Re: Laptop Acting up...Help!
Try an external monitor. If it behaves the same it could be your Windows installation or harddrive. Try also with a bootable CD (linux live CD or BartPE). Post back what you find out.

Re: Laptop Acting up...Help!
I hooked it to a monitor yesterday. I could see it make it to the Windows boot up screen on the monitor, then it would die. It is still blank on my laptop screen though.
I'm assuming a Windows disk is a bootable disk....correct? |

Re: Laptop Acting up...Help!
Have you tried using a bootable CD like a Windows XP installation CD or a linux live cd like Knoppix or Ubuntu?
