Compaq V3000 Blank Screen and Blue Lights After Reboot Revisited...

Hey all sorry about this, but I just recently started having this problem. Out of no where. I powered my laptop off then went to go power it back on and only the blue lights came on. After taking the battery out and disconnecting the power cord for a bit I was able to get it to bootup. After searching the web and seeing multiple people having the same issue, I have tried the following reseat the Memory and HDD, completed bios update to f39, and it still gets stuck at the blank screen after a reboot, or power down. Has anyone figured out what is causing this issue? I'm hoping it's def. not a System Board issue as my laptop is out of warranty.

Try a reset. Remove battery and unplug AC adapter. Press and HOLD power ON button for at least 30 secs. Put back battery and plug back AC adapter. Power On as normal.

Thanks triggerfinger, the Reset works, but when I shutdown and try to turn it back on same thing, the only way I get it to boot up correctly is to reset it again...any idea what could be causing this?

That is quite strange unless of course there is a problem with the motherboard or the BIOS. Refer to the document link below and see if your laptop is included in the list of affected models.

Re: Compaq V3000 Blank Screen and Blue Lights After Reboot Revisited...

Yeah I found this but since my laptop was purchased overseas, I'd have to call from where I bought it and have it sent over there......so it sucks for me. Was hoping someone may know of a fix. Oddly enough today I shutdown a bunch of times and it didn't happen. so I guess now it's deciding it wants to work...hopefully it'll work right for atleast this spring semester of programming....Thanks...
