will not play CDs
I have dell latitude C840; it will not play any audio media. When I put a cd in the drive I get "Windows Media player cannot find play the file because there is a problem with your sound device." I have completed the troubleshooting and uninstall and reinstall the sound device drivers and still it does not work. Thanks in advance for the help.

Sounds like you need to re-install the audio drivers. Somehow they ended up missing. Check the Dell website to download them.
Or open it up and see if the cables are loose/disconnected. Of course, that's thinking that you're like me and don't have/trust/care for tech support anyway. Last edited by Gnard Smasha; 12-20-2008 at 07:32 PM. Reason: Clarification |
