hp pavillion dv6405 wont boot properly
i have a hp pavillion dv6000 series laptop that i bought a year back it has both linux debian and windows xp my laptop is not booting properly for some reason. when i turn on the laptop the lights come on and stay on for a little while then it goes off for some five seconds and comes back on and this keeps happening until it loads. i dont even understand if its a hardware problem or software problem.

Try booting from CD/DVD drive using a bootable CD. Observe if it behaves the same. If it behaves otherwise then it could be a problem with your HDD.
