Video Driver for VAIO VGN S170B
Hi everyone, I have a VAIO laptop VGN S170B and
I really need help finding these driver, I've looked everywhere for these driver and can't find it. I've visited the Sony support site but they want to charge you for everything and I refuse to pay for something that should be free to everyone. The problem I'm having is that the screen is about half the it should be, I checked the resolution and it only gives me two choices (1024 x 768 & 800 x 600) and I notice the driver for the video, mass storage, multimedia audio and network controller needs updating, but I can't find them. As I said, I've looked everywhere for over two months and can't find them. I would really appreciate any advice or suggestions that anyone may have. I thank you in advance........... Thanks BCCOMP,
But the Sony support site was the first place I checked for the drivers. I don't even know if its the video chip, I don't know what kind it is anyway. The screen is half the size it should be and it only gives me two choices for the resolution size. In the device manager there are yellow exclamation on the mass storage, network and video controller (VGA Compatible). That's why i think it's the video drivers that's causing the problem. Hi,
OK, from your screenshot (I needed All the + opened) from what I can tell you need to reinstall the Chipset Driver along with some others. Did this laptop recently have issues with a Virus or was it reformated? I just want to be sure what the cause of your issue was before we proceed.
