Direct X serious problem....

Ok, here are my comp's stats. It is a Vostro Laptop.

2 gig mem
Nvidia GForce 8600 gt 512mb
Windows xp
120 gig hard drive

K. So I am trying to run Counter strike, and it won't. It gets stuck at "sending to client" and then gives me a screensaver type message, "could not create direct x".

I have a good idea of how this happened. I was palying WoW, while installing an HP Deskjet F4200 series (Printer CD). Well, I was changing a zone or something in WoW and then the everything froze, while this cd was still installing.

I cut the laptop back on and cancel the rest of the installation, because I had to get back to a naxx raid. Later i finished installing it. Later when I tried CS:S it wouldnt work.

I only have one idea left to do, and thats the "system restore" option. SHould I do this or is my vid card permantly damaged? WoW still works btw.
