toshiba will not boot after adding memory
I have an m35x-s149,it had 256mb in it. I ordered 1gb of memory from ebay.
The mem I bought is: pc2700s 25331 a0 m470l646424dt0 cb3 512 mb ddr pc2700 cl2.5 The original is:pc2700s 25331 a0 m470l3224ft0 cb3 256 mb ddr pc2700 cl2.5 After getting the new (not used) memory I installed it. The laptop will kick the fan for 5 secs and then do nothing but sit with a blue light on the power button. I have tried to power up with old mem but get the same results. If I boot with no mem I get 3 3 1 beeps. I found my book and it said to remove battery before installing mem, which I didn't do. Am I screwed or is there a way out of this mess? thanks ljmace1953 |

Re: toshiba will not boot after adding memory
Remove the battery and unplug the AC adapter. Leave it like that for about 5 minutes then plug only the ac adapter back in and power it on.
See if that works for you. But also the M35X's are very well known for the motherboards going out on them. |

Re: toshiba will not boot after adding memory
I've had it repaired for the power problem already(last year just before the class action suit was over).
I think it is weird that after putting mem in the thing would just die and wont work with the original. I didn't have time last night to work with it as I had a 16hr day, I will try tonight. Also the 3 3 1 beep w/o memeory is correct isn't it?? thanks ljmace1953 |
