laptop/ wirelles card not working

i have a dell laptop and hen i insert my verizon wireles card to connection, the laptop frezees. i try to restart but it doesn't work. i try to turn it on while the card connection and i get black screen. can anybody help me.

Is the Verizon card pcmcia or usb connected?
