XPS M1710 Issue
Hi here is my issue:
Whenever I do something that puts my computer to work such as play a game, my fans kick into a very fast speed and after a few seconds the screen goes a bunch of crazy colors. At that point I always turn the computer off. What is causing this issue? I have a few theories but I can't come to a solution and I would like an expert opinion on what to do. I am a college student with very little money, so I cannot take the computer in for repairs. Also my warranty is no longer valid. |

Re: XPS M1710 Issue
Have you checked the temps lately? Try NHC or SpeedFan or similar programs. They could give you an idea how high your temps can get especially when playing games.

Re: XPS M1710 Issue
This issue occurs when my room is freezing cold and the computer has only been running for 5 minutes. I took the computer apart and removed a large clump of dust from the video card, however, the problem is still happening. I really need someone to help me resolve this issue!

Re: XPS M1710 Issue
So what does NHC or SpeedFan say about your system temperatures? Or you have not tried any of that yet?
Also observe if color distortions appear if you are using an external monitor.
