Cry Monitor Help

I am using a Dell Lattitude D830. I added another monitor (Dell) for home use. First time I hooked it up, it worked fine. Today, I took the laptop with me, so unplugged the monitor. Now, I cannot get the monitor to come back up. I have gone into the control panel and changed the monitors, but it still won't work. The monitor works, but I cannot get the laptop screen to show up. My wireless mouse won't work either now. I need the monitor badly, as my DH cann ot see the small screen on the laptop. I have unplugged, rebooted, changed out batteries and everything else I could think of. I consider myself pretty computer savvey!

Thank you for any help you can offer.

Re: Monitor Help

maybe try doing a system restore to a restore point just prior to yesterday when you first tried the monitor.

Re: Monitor Help

Is that the only option? I would hate to lose all of the recent updates.
