Hi all,
i have inspiron6400. It has been giving me problem. My battery is finished so its on the ac only. Once i transferred my laptop from my kitchen to bedroom without turning it off and it gave me a message system halted ...contact vendor. after that its been giving me problem. when i start the laptop there is nothing on the screen ,i can hear processor and i tried putting cd in cs drive ,that was also working and i can hear it, but still there is nothing on the screen. sometimes the system starts normally after moving screen a bit. but its frustrating.
Can anybody tell me what can be the problem.

fyi-i tried removing the battery , ram and hard drive but it didnt help much.

Best if you can get the screen shot of the message.

Does it happen each time you move the laptop regardless when plugged in or not? I am asking because you said your battery is finished so given that, I am assuming you unplug it when you move it from one room to another which could cause an immediate shutdown as soon as you unplug it from the wall outlet.
