Acer Travelmate 7510 Battery and Slow startup time Help !

Hi, im having problems with my Acer Travelmate 7510 takes about 80 -90seconds to load up . How do i speed the load up time ?

and the battery only lasts 8-10mins.

Does this mean i need a new battery ?

As for the battery, try it first on another similar model of laptop. How old is the battery anyway?

Thanks the boot up is bout 20seconds quicker.

The battery is just over a year old its the orignal one that came with the laptop. It started running down quicker a couple of months ago. Used to last about 2 hours.
