Windows Vista: disk read error on Dell Inspiron 1526
Hello. I own a Dell Inspiron 1526 laptop. Recently I downloaded lots of
movies from my friend's portable hard drive. And he did mention, that it had a virus. But, my laptops been fine, then I installed GTA san adreas lol, retail CD, and I played it frequently. I had lots of crashes while playing it, but today, it froze, and I couldnt even do cntrl+alt+del, to open task manager (usually i pressed end program, because it wasnt responding). It just froze, so i just pressed the shutdown button. Got back after awhile, and this stupid message, says: A disk read error occured, press ctrl+alt+del to restart. I press it, but the same message pops up again, over and over again. Could it be the virus? or, is my HD screwed. My laptop is only like 6 months old. Please , someone help me... I dont mind reinstalling it, but I would like to keep my pictures, and some documents. Thank you for reading. |

Re: Windows Vista: disk read error on Dell Inspiron 1526
it will still be under warranty your best course is to contact dell first as it sounds like it may be the drive
