Acer 4620 Power Suppy Related Problem
My 4620 shuts down, goes into hibernate or standby immediately upon plugging in the power supply. The measured output of the power supply is normal. Also, after shutting down this laptop, the battery LED stays lit, with a drain on the battery. Anybody have any ideas?

Re: Acer 4620 Power Suppy Related Problem
Have you checked Power Settings of Windows (see Control Panel)?

Re: Acer 4620 Power Suppy Related Problem
I believe I've already done that, but I'll double check that as soon as the battery charges. See the problem I have? Cannot operate on AC power. As soon as I plug in the adaptor, the screen goes black.

Re: Acer 4620 Power Suppy Related Problem
OK, my battery is charged now! Going to Control Panel, Power Options, brings me to the Acer ePower Management Screen. Let me load the default settings. Nothing changes. The second I plug in the AC adaptor the computer beeps, screen goes dark, power button blinks yellow. Pushing and holding the power button does nothing. I am back to square one!

Re: Acer 4620 Power Suppy Related Problem
Is AC adapter original/genuine that came with the laptop? Have you tried using it in another similar laptop model? If you can, measure output voltage of adapter and compare that to what is on the label. Also if possible, try another adapter (borrow from a friend with a similar unit).

Re: Acer 4620 Power Suppy Related Problem
Yes, it is the original. My first step was to measure output voltage and its ok. Let me also say When I bought the laptop a few months ago, everything was normal and then after several weeks this problem started. I did a system restore and it did no good. I know its still under warranty but I don't want to send it off for who knows how long!

Re: Acer 4620 Power Suppy Related Problem
Check Power Settings as it looks like it is hibernate/standby configuration issue.
