get error after boot up
hey guys i need a bit of help i recently bought a laptop from a friend it was supposed to have windows vista premium on it but he had it formated to XP so i got a disk what had windows vista home premium i installed over XP but now when i boot it up it shows the asus splash screen then the load bar then i get a grey screen with a big red error in it i took it to a computer shop they wouldnt tell me what the problem was but they did want 130 pounds to fix it i dont have that money before christmas so any help would be so much appreciated thanks.

if the vista disk is a recovery disk that came with the laptop and your friend formatted the drive,he has probably wiped the restore partion the disk works in conjuction with to restore the computer
what brand and model laptop is it

http://support.asus.com/download/dow...Language=pt-pt what type of vista disk came with it,try booting from it in another computer and see if it is bootable,as i don't know what type of disk asus supplies __________________

um he didnt give me any disk when i bought it the disk I git is a windiws vista ultimate disk none bootable
