Hi,
Is this the driver you installed?
http://www.mediafire.com/?dg0cmmkm4y4

If not, then uninstall the drivers you installed in ADD/Remove Programs and in the device manager and install this driver by doing this:

Unzip to a folder.
Run installer.
If it errors use device Manager.
From Device Manager, right click "Audio Device on HD", choose Update driver.
No to connect.
Install from a list or specific location.
Don't search I will choose the driver to install.
In the list of common hardware types, scroll down and select Sound, Video, and Game controllers.
Remove the check from "Show Compatible Hardware" and click on "Have Disk".
Next...browse to the unzipped folder and choose the "WiSVHe5.inf".
Ignore XP when it complains.
Reboot.

Thanks,
Bill

Re: compaq cq50 special audio problem need for help!!!

You issue maybe SP3
Did you install SP3 before you had ALL your drivers working?

Did you remove your other drivers (Sound) before installing the driver I Posted.
(Remove in ADD/Remove Programs and in the Device Manager)
http://www.mediafire.com/?dg0cmmkm4y4

I can confirm this driver works as I have done several downgrades using this driver and have had no issues, but yours might be the first.

Re: compaq cq50 special audio problem need for help!!!

Hi,
Can you run Everest under my signature and attach the report to the thread?

Is your mic muted?
Go into your control panel under Sound and Audio Devices.
Under the Audio Tab>Sound Recording>Volume
A window will open Recording Control>go to options>Properties
Besure that the mic is checked (to show) under Recording Devices>OK
You should now see the mic listed in the Recording Control panel.
Besure it is not muted
Bill
