[SOLVED] Satellite P200 won't hibernate while plugged in
Here's something weird and wonderful. This laptop will not hibernate while plugged in, but does when on battery power.
I realized this must be in the settings somewhere, but does one know where and how to set it so it will hibernate while plugged in? Please type very slowly in all responses so I will be able to follow the directions. :-} Thanks!!! |

Check power settings in Windows. Also check if there is an equivalent parameter in BIOS settings.

Have you checked Power Settings in Control Panel?

Do a cold start. When you see the Sony or Vaio logo on the screen, press F1 (some laptops show what key to go into the BIOS on that same logo screen)

Re: Satellite P200 won't hibernate while plugged in
Thanks again TriggerFinger. Here's what I did to overcome the problem. I went to Power Options / Changed advanced Power Settings / then to Multimedia Settings, and there I found the Plugging In to be set at "Prevent Idling to Sleep" --- I changed that to "Allow the computer to sleep" --- and now it's in a nice light coma.
Up to this point anyways, all seems to be working ok. If that changes, I'll beg for your furthered expertise. Appreciate your feedback. Thanks! |
