Reset CMOS, then WHAM!
I have a Toshiba laptop in my shop that wouldn't boot up without the admin password. I cleared the CMOS by draining the battery. All seemed to be well; I could boot up to Windows with no trouble. Two days later I tried to boot up to load some software and I'm getting nothing but fan noise from the computer. How badly did I screw up this machine?
