New to the forums but have found it to be a great resource for any other problems or questions ive had.

Okay, so i want to find out what type of ram i need to get to upgrade my Acer Travelmate 2350 laptop from 512mb to 2gb ram. I do know that my laptop needs two 1gb ram sticks for it to get up to 2gb becuase of the max ram per slot which is 1gb but im not entirely sure what type of ram i need to get.

Ive done a few searches on google and have found sites simply offering ''Acer Travelmate 2350 1GB Ram Stick'' for around £29.99 but it doesnt state what make of ram, full product code etc.

if anyone could help me out with it that would be great.

also im looking for a possible upgrade to my CPU (Intel Celeron M 1.5ghz) and seeing what type of options are availiable to me at the moment. I don't know anything about motherboards etc. so im a bit of a moron in that way.

Hi Rob,

As for your RAM, Crucial.com can help you using their Memory Advisor Tool. That could tell you how big of RAM can be supported in your laptop.

As for CPU upgrading, you may need to research more on this. I did one recently with 1.6Ghz Celeron M to 1.7Ghz Pentium M on a Gateway M325. Check the specification of your laptop. Check also the service guide.
