Blue Screen ATI2DVAG Infinite Loop
Hi
I have a Toshiba Tecra S2 and as of today a blue screen has shown up once I've used the computer for a minute or two saying it has gone into an infinite loop likely due to ATI2DVAG. I've been reading through other threads and tried the RUN-msconfig and unlicking the ATI components under the specified tabs (there were two to unlick) and then I restart the computer. After another minute or two the problem persists - boxes get "liney" on the screen and then the same blue screen appears again. Can anyone let me know what to do now?? Thanks! |

Re: Blue Screen ATI2DVAG Infinite Loop
Try to uninstall all ATI related drivers in Device Manager and in ADD/REMOVE. Reboot.

Re: Blue Screen ATI2DVAG Infinite Loop
Thanks for the reply.
I have done thisl; however, now my screen has very low resolution/colours (big writing, wrong colours, very grainy)...sort of how it looks in safe mode but without me specifying I wanted to start in safe mode |

Re: Blue Screen ATI2DVAG Infinite Loop
The computer seems to be working better/fine now and I've manually adjusted the resolution. Should I reinstall these ATI drivers? How do I know which is the right one to install when picking the product?
I really appreciate the help. |

Re: Blue Screen ATI2DVAG Infinite Loop
I downloaded and installed the drivers from this link and when I restarted my computer after being prompted to, my original problem restarted - columns of rectangles through the screen, a pixelated box following my cursor and then the blue screen caused by ati2dvag came up. After uninstalling the driver again, the screen is back to normal.
I also can't use any "power saving" functions like the standby button under shut down or turning off the hard drive when I close the laptop. |

Re: Blue Screen ATI2DVAG Infinite Loop
I suggest you reinstall CHIPSET drivers first (see website again if there is one) before you install VIDEO drivers.

Re: Blue Screen ATI2DVAG Infinite Loop
I'm sorry to say I'm feeling quite confused. I've been searching the Toshiba Website on and off for the past few days and I can't seem to find what you are recommending. I don't really even see what video drivers to download under their "device driver" page and definitely not the chipset

Re: Blue Screen ATI2DVAG Infinite Loop
Sorry about that, I checked the website again and like you said there seems to be no chipset drivers too.
May be you can try running Everest and post the result here.
