[SOLVED] Random Vista Freezing

Gateway T-6330u, Vista SP2--just got it yesterday. It freezes randomly. No known pattern (32 Bit system, Home Premium). Help!

The freezing does not have a pattern to it. The cursor won't move, machine just stops dead, ctl alt del does nothing. A tech support person said to disable all start up programs. However, I have nothing on here I did not have on XP. HAPPENS A LOT in internet browsers, Firefox or IE7.

Re: Random Vista Freezing

If it is under warranty... bring it back and have it replaced or repaired. Freezing could be video card or hard drive or RAM related.

Re: Random Vista Freezing

It was the hard dr. Geek Squad is great! But insecure me returned it, added $100 to it and got a Sony Vaio VGN-NS140E. It works far better, has Centrino AND DOES NOT FREEZE UP! Thanks for the great advice.
